Hazrat Muhammad Murad Ali Khan
Rahmatullah Alayh
Hazrat Muhammad Murad Ali Khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) was born in the famous village (Phalai) of Hoshyar Pur city of India in 1880. His (Rahmatullah Alayh) respected father name was Hazrat Muhammad Ali khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) and his respected mother name was Umer Bibi. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) got his early education from his respected father Hazrat Muhammad Ali (Rahmatullah Alayh) khan who himself was great Wali (saint) of his time. When he (Rahmatullah Alayh) became young his father (Rahmatullah Alayh) admitted him in the nearby Madrissa (religious institution).
Here he (Rahmatullah Alayh) got his education from Moulvi Allah Bakhsh who was uncle’s brother of famous Sofi Hazrat Bulleh Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh). After that his father (Rahmatullah Alayh) admitted him in the school of his locality for modern science education. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) was a Wali (saint) by birth.
One incident of his school’s life is very famous that during the class a classmate lost his knife used to make the pencil. He accused Murad Ali Khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) for this. When his teacher asked him he (Rahmatullah Alayh) replied that he was not the one doing it.
But the teacher punished him out of the class without caring to know the truth. And he (Rahmatullah Alayh) remained outside the class whole day. A Dervaish (a religious mendicant) used to sit on the way and the students used to pass from there for their ways to homes. Some students used to stop there for drinking the water. The Dervaish loved all the students and especially him (Rahmatullah Alayh). The students told the Dervaish about the Murad Ali Khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) that today he was punished out of the class for robbing the knife due to which he was unable to attend any class today. Listening this, Dervaish slapped him in rage and said you robbed a student’s knife! He (Rahmatullah Alayh) went crying all the way home. When his respected father (Rahmatullah Alayh) and mother asked for the reason he (Rahmatullah Alayh) described it all. Both comforted him and it made him satisfied.
It was the midnight; the same Dervaish came to their door and requested his respected father (Rahmatullah Alayh) to ask forgiveness for him to his son at his behalf. He was very worried and said that he used to be present every night in the court of Hazrat Ghous Pak Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (Rahmatullah Alayh) and also in his closeness but today was unable even to enter the court. Then Ghous Pak (Rahmatullah Alayh) said that you have slapped the one dear to me. Go! And first ask his forgiveness. That is why I have come and asked you for my forgiveness to him. His father (Rahmatullah Alayh) aroused him and told him everything. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) instantly forgave him and the Dervaish went happily.
When this Dervaish again got entrance in the court of Ghous Pak (Rahmatullah Alayh) what he saw was that the same boy was eating apple in the lap of Ghous pak (Rahmatullah Alayh) and Ghous pak (Rahmatullah Alayh) was combing his hairs with his fingers.
He (Rahmatullah Alayh) got scientific, religious and spiritual education from many people. Among his teachers Moulvi Allah Bakhsh, Qari Zahoor Ahmad, Mufti Fateh Muhammad and Qudrut ul Allah dehlvi are notable. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) got degrees of ‘Moulvi Fazil’ (religious scholar) and ‘Munshi Fazil’ (secretary or language teacher). Apart from this he (Rahmatullah Alayh) was very fluent in Arabic and Persian language. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) got Baatni Faiz (spiritual guidance) from Hazrat Ghous Pak (Rahmatullah Alayh) and Hazrat Syed Abd ur Razzaq (Rahmatullah Alayh). He (Rahmatullah Alayh) himself told that he offered the five times prayer along with Tahajud regularly since five years of his age.
He (Rahmatullah Alayh) spent a lot of time in search of his spiritual mentor and travelled the whole subcontinent but in vain. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) went to the shrine of Sultan ul Arifin (Rahmatullah Alayh) and similarly went to Golra Sharif (Rahmatullah Alayh) and did meditation there yet not satisfied. After that he (Rahmatullah Alayh) also spent 2 months in Karachi and did meditation in the shrine of Mangho Pir (Rahmatullah Alayh). Then he (Rahmatullah Alayh) went to the shrine of Hazrat Nizam ud Din Oliya (Rahmatullah Alayh) and was then signaled to went back home and to wait and that he (Rahmatullah Alayh) will soon get his desire satisfied. So from here he (Rahmatullah Alayh) went to Ajmair Sharif and then to Lahore, then Pakpatan and then from Chishtiyan back to their home in village Chak # 333. It was a time of disappointment. After coming back to his village he (Rahmatullah Alayh) laid the foundation of the school in his own agriculture ground which now Ma Sha’ Allah (by wish of Allah) it has become Faridiya College.
Then that time also came for which he (Rahmatullah Alayh) travelled the whole subcontinent. There used to be annual Mehfil Milad (celebration of holy prophet’s birthday) in his village. And the spiritual teacher, of someone in his village whom people used to call Mian Ji, was the guest of honor, named Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh). When the celebration started the guest of honor (Rahmatullah Alayh) asked from Mian ji that had all the villagers were arrived? The Mian ji replied that one person Moulvi Muhammad Murad Ali Khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) had not arrived because that was the time of his worship. The guest of honor (Rahmatullah Alayh) wished for him. Hence a man was sent to call him. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) came but there was no place to sit and whole place was croweded with the heads of the people everywhere. When he (Rahmatullah Alayh) found no place to sit then he (Rahmatullah Alayh) went outside to sit beneath the tree. Guest of honor, Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh) who was ‘Wali Kamil’ and ‘Qutub’ (high ranked spiritual leader) of his time, saw him and said ‘respected molana, please come to me’. When he (Rahmatullah Alayh) came, Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh) stepped forward and embraced him. That was the sight worth seeing, the meeting of a lover with his loved one. Respected Hazrat Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh) addressed the meeting place in standing and said ‘I have found that jewel for which I have travelled from Ram Pur U.P to this village of Punjab and is very thankful to Almighty Allah that I am able to entrust His promise to its true deserver’. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) did Bai’t on the hand (coming into spiritual guidance and leadership) of Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh) and gained access to the different levels of Tasawuf (Islamic spiritualism) from ‘Fina Fi Sheikh’ to ‘Fina Fi Rasool’ and then finally to ‘Fina Fi Allah’.
Hazrat Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah (Rahmatullah Alayh) gave him Khiafat of all four golden chains of Tasawuf i.e. Naqshbandiya, Chishtiya, Qadriya, Soharwardiya and also appoint him his Khalifa Azam (main successor). People started caming in crowd to gain Allah’s blessings. His (Rahmatullah Alayh) Murids (spiritual students) are numbered in thousands.
At last on Tuesday august 14, 1968AD (solar calendar) i.e. Jamadi ul Awwal 19, 1388AH (lunar calendar) Hazrat Muhammad Murad Ali Khan (Rahmatullah Alayh) said farewell to this unreliable world and travelled to the world hereafter. In Lilla Hi Wa Inna Illaihi Rajioon (Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return). May Allah shower his blessings upon him (Rahmatullah Alayh). Amin. He (Rahmatullah Alayh) was buried at afternoon in Sadiq Abad, Rahim Yaar Khan, Pakistan.
